About this spot
Bonaire's coast is a protected marine park, and kitesurfing is concentrated at Atlantis Kite Beach on the south-west coast, south of Kralendijk near the salt flats. The easterly trade wind blows on most days, strongest from about April to August, over warm, flattish water with some chop.
The local schools teach here and run rescue boats. The wind comes from across the island and can be gusty near the beach; beginners should only ride with a school. Keep off the coral and respect the marine-park rules.

Needs local verification: Compiled in October 2026 from independent spot guides and the Bonaire kite schools' general descriptions. Kiting rules on Bonaire are tied to the protected marine park and can change, so the rules, launch zone and rescue arrangements need confirming on site; coordinates are approximate, not a verified launch point. No verified live webcam was found, so the camera links open Windy's webcam search instead of a local feed.
Local hazards
- Wind blows across the island — gusts near the beach
- Drift out to sea if the wind turns offshore; ride with rescue cover
- Coral in the protected marine park — do not stand on it
