About this spot
The national tourism office presents the Baie de l'Étoile near Nouadhibou as the place for kitesurfing and windsurfing; it is a protected area with green turtles, monk seals and many birds.
A sandspit almost closes the lagoon, so the water inside stays flat while the Atlantic works outside. Spot guides compare the wind with Dakhla: regular, building in the afternoon, best from February to September.
There are no facilities and the track in needs a high-clearance 4x4. No school teaching here was found, so it is not marked beginner friendly even though guides call the water easy.
