About this spot

Let's Kite describes a 5 km beach strip on the Atlantic coast, reached only by boat from the Suriname River (or by helicopter from Paramaribo). North-east trade winds blow consistently; rideable from N to E, season September to April with a January peak.

The Guyana current can reach 4 knots, the water is brown and muddy, and foilers should use a robust setup because of fish and driftwood. Rated advanced because of the current and total isolation. The beach is a sea-turtle nesting site; the swampy hinterland has mosquitoes, caimans and snakes.
