About this spot
Kish Kiteboard Beach is listed in the Kish free zone's own directory as the largest private kiteboard beach in Iran: about 3,000 m² on the west of the island near Kolbeh Hoor, chosen, in the listing's words, for its favourable wind, sandy shore and suitable sea depth, and used as the place where kiteboarders from all over the country gather each year. The same entry says access to the water is direct from the beach.
The wind here is a gentle one. The spot guide that tracks this beach puts the monthly average at 8 to 11 knots and counts 49 days a year reaching force 4 or more, with April and May the windiest at ten days each — a thermal breeze off the Gulf rather than a storm, so a light-wind kite or a foil earns its place in the bag. The same guide flags corals in the water, and the seabed is described as sand mixed with coral, so walk your start and keep your fins up.
This is also the only place in Iran where learning infrastructure is real. Kiteboarding reached the country about fifteen years ago and started on this island, and courses ending in an official certificate run at Marina's dedicated beach on Kish under the head of the Iranian kiteboarding federation — a different sand from this one, so book the course and ask where you will actually be put on the water. The beach's own computed guide marks it Intermediate while the directory and the spot records describe shallow, sandy, all-levels water; a beginner belongs here with an instructor, not alone.

Access & parking
On Sunset Road (Jadeh Ghoroub) just before Kolbeh Hoor on the west of Kish; the free-zone directory lists direct beach access. Kish is reached by air or ferry from the mainland, and kiting in Iran is meant to be announced to the national kiteboarding organisation or a local school before you travel.
Parking: Beach car park off Sunset Road — the directory lists direct access from the road.

Needs local verification: Sources: the Kish free zone's official directory (largest private kiteboard beach in Iran, about 3,000 m², west of the island near Kolbeh Hoor, chosen for favourable wind, sandy shore and suitable sea depth, direct beach access, Sunset Road address), Let's Kite's spot guide (dedicated to kitesurfing with organised access, shamal north-westerlies in winter and spring, south-easterlies in summer, shallow sandy and coral bottom, required level Intermediate, season January to July, peak February, 162 rideable days a year from 2024–2025 readings), Kite Jungle's record (49 windy days a year at force 4 or more, monthly average 8–11 kt, thermal wind, corals listed as the danger, kiteshop/restaurant/accommodation, rider level 'all', not tide dependent) and Marina Park Hotel's course page (certificate training at Marina's dedicated beach under the head of the Iranian kiteboarding federation; kiteboarding in Iran for about 15 years, started on Kish). No station climatology exists for this beach: every wind figure is a guide's model reading, and the coordinate is taken from the Windy.app forecast spot for Kish Kitebeach, not from the free-zone listing. The wind window is derived from the beach's position on the west of the island and is published nowhere — the guides only say north-westerly in winter and south-easterly in summer, and a southerly at this latitude reads across the island's lee side, so confirm the direction on site before you commit. The level labels disagree (Kite Jungle 'all', Let's Kite 'Intermediate'): the beginner label rests on the official 'suitable sea depth' description plus the island's teaching courses, and no school has confirmed that it teaches on this particular sand. Needs local verification.
Local hazards
- Corals in the water and a sandy bottom mixed with coral — check your start and your depth before you launch
- Light thermal wind most days: an 8 to 11 knot average means wading and relaunching rather than riding
- Summer air runs 'boiling hot, way over 40 °C and humid' according to the spot guide — ride at dawn
- No lifeguard or rescue cover is published for this beach
- Kiting has to be announced in advance and permission can change: local rules move
- Beach dress rules apply — the country's spot record states women must be covered and men should wear a T-shirt
