About this spot

Matanzas, north of Pichilemu, is famous for windsurfing and kite wave riding. From about October to March a strong south to south-westerly wind builds in the afternoons over a powerful Pacific swell.

Big waves, rocks and cold Humboldt-current water make it a spot for experienced wave riders. A thick wetsuit is needed all year. Whether a school teaches here should be checked locally.

Needs local verification: Compiled in October 2026 from independent spot guides. Whether schools currently teach at each spot, launch areas, access and any local rules all need confirming on site; the difficulty labels are not confirmed by a school or club. Coordinates are approximate, not verified launch points. No verified live webcam was found, so the camera links open Windy's webcam search instead of a local feed.
