About this spot
Sanur, on Bali's south-east coast, is the island's main kite spot. From about June to September the south-east trade wind blows side-onshore across a lagoon protected by an outer reef, giving flat to choppy water inside and waves breaking on the reef outside.
The lagoon is shallow and the reef dries out at low tide, so riding happens around high tide only. Schools teach here and run boat support; beginners should stay inside with a school. Wear booties over the reef and watch for boats in the channels.

Needs local verification: Compiled in October 2026 from independent spot guides and the Sanur kite schools' general descriptions. Tide windows, launch areas and any beach rules change, so everything here needs confirming on site; coordinates are approximate, not a verified launch point. No verified live webcam was found, so the camera links open Windy's webcam search instead of a local feed.
