About this spot
The Tbilisi Sea is an inland reservoir, not the Black Sea. Big Brothers Team lists its kite school here and publishes the launch coordinates on its contact page. The school describes north-west as the most stable and comfortable direction; strong weather systems can produce much stronger wind than a normal thermal session.
The shallow shelf is only about 10–15 metres wide, then the water deepens and develops chop or small waves. The school's Russian-language page explicitly says that flat water is rare, so this is not a vast standing-depth learning lagoon. Beginner lessons belong with the school; independent riders need control in deep water and a self-rescue plan.
The school's language versions disagree on the end of the season: September on the English page, November on the Russian page. Confirm current lesson dates, the launch and wind window before travelling. The summer water figures are approximate and the water-temperature card uses a reservoir estimate, not an unrelated sea forecast.

Needs local verification: Sources: https://www.bigbrothersteam.com/extrim-leto/spots/spot-gruziya/ and https://en.bigbrothersteam.com/contacts/. The English spot page contains an inconsistent GPS pin; this entry uses the matching Russian-page and contact-page coordinates. Confirm lesson season, beginner arrangements, shore access and wind window locally. Only NW is positively supported; other unverified directions are excluded from recommendations. Seasonal reservoir temperatures are estimates. No verified local live webcam was found; Windy links are searches/maps.
Local hazards
- Only a short shallow shelf — lessons do not imply standing depth across the reservoir
- Chop or small waves beyond the shelf; flat water is rare according to the school
- Weather systems can produce extreme wind — do not ride a storm
- Other wind directions and the current launch layout require a school briefing
