About this spot

Union Island is the kite base of the Grenadines. JT Pro Center describes a warm, knee-deep beginner lagoon plus a large flat-water area for board lessons, with steady trade winds from mid-November to July. Happy Kite also teaches here.

Both schools teach one-on-one with a safety boat, driver and radio — the boat brings you back upwind, so lessons don't depend on staying near the beach. Day trips go to the Tobago Cays and other nearby islands.

Hurricane Beryl caused heavy damage on Union Island in July 2024; check that schools and accommodation are running. The exact launch and wind directions aren't named in the sources — ask the school.

The sources don't name the launch beach or compass directions — the spot point and wind sector are estimates around Clifton/Frigate Island for the easterly trades; ask the school. Hurricane Beryl hit Union Island hard in 2024 — confirm facilities are operating. Water temperatures borrow the Barbados table. Windy links are searches/maps, not verified local webcams.
