About this spot
Al Hail, close to Muscat International Airport and Al Mouj, is the kite beach in town. The afternoon thermal sea breeze blows on- to side-shore, usually in the lighter 7-14 knot range, over a flat sandy beach with 50-200 m of shallow water depending on the tide and no reefs or rocks, so schools use it for basic courses and advanced riders bring foils or race boards.
It works all year, but summer (May-September) is extremely hot; the better Muscat kite season is mid-December to mid-March. A southerly land breeze blows offshore here and is a no-ride direction.

Needs local verification: Compiled in October 2026 from the schools' own pages (G.E.T Kitesurf Oman, Kiteboarding Oman), Kite Insider and the Oman Observer. Launch pins, which operator runs the seasonal camps, lesson availability outside the season and access rules change from year to year, so everything here needs confirming on site and the coordinates are approximate, not verified launch points. Lessons at Masirah outside May-September must be booked ahead. No verified live webcam was found, so the camera links open Windy's webcam search instead of a local feed.
