About this spot

Boca Grandi sits near the island's south-eastern tip, on the exposed windward side. The trade wind blows side-onshore, the water is wavy, and it is the place on Aruba for wave riding and strapless kiting.

Strong currents, a rocky point and shorebreak make it no place to learn, and swimming is dangerous. Ride with a buddy, stay clear of the rocks and know your self-rescue.

Amenities

  • None at the beach; services in San Nicolas

Needs local verification: Compiled in October 2026 from independent spot guides and the general descriptions of the Aruba kite schools. Launch zones, school locations and any beach rules change, so everything here needs confirming on site and the coordinates are approximate, not verified launch points. No verified live webcam was found, so the camera links open Windy's webcam search instead of a local feed.

Local hazards

  • Strong currents — dangerous for swimming
  • Shorebreak and rocky point
  • Remote compared with the west coast — no rescue
