About this spot

Fisherman's Huts (Hadicurari), north of the high-rise hotels on Aruba's sheltered west coast, is where the island's kite and windsurf schools work. The easterly trade wind blows across the island on most days of the year — strongest from about April to August — and arrives here side-offshore, which is why the water is so flat.

Because the wind is side-offshore, a rider who gets into trouble drifts out to sea, not back to the beach. The schools run rescue boats, and beginners should only ride with a school's boat cover. Expect windsurfers sharing the water, the odd shallow rock or coral patch, and some gustiness close to shore behind the hotels.

Needs local verification: Compiled in October 2026 from independent spot guides and the general descriptions of the Aruba kite schools. Launch zones, school locations and any beach rules change, so everything here needs confirming on site and the coordinates are approximate, not verified launch points. No verified live webcam was found, so the camera links open Windy's webcam search instead of a local feed.
