About this spot
Cabo de la Vela is a small Wayuu fishing village on the La Guajira desert peninsula, at Colombia's northern tip. The north-east trade wind blows strongly for much of the year, strongest from about December to April and again mid-year, across a wide bay with flat, shallow water.
The shallow bay and steady wind make it a common place to learn, and local schools teach here. It is remote: the last stretch is a desert track, services are basic, and you should bring what you need. Respect the Wayuu community and local fishermen.

No verified live webcam was found, so the camera links open Windy's webcam search instead of a local feed.
