About this spot
Santa Verónica and the nearby beaches of Atlántico, between Barranquilla and Cartagena, are ridden in the windy dry season, roughly December to April, when the north-east trade wind blows side-shore along the coast.
Expect chop and small waves rather than flat water. Schools operate in season; it is not as sheltered as Cabo de la Vela, so beginners should only ride with a school. Easterly-to-southerly winds turn offshore.
