About this spot

Djibouti Dynamik says most local riders moved to Douda around 2019–2020 because its depth allows foiling, which the Tortue does not.

Same light thermal trade wind as town — foil or big kite.

Needs local verification: Compiled in October 2026 from Djibouti Dynamik (a resident rider's detailed spot and wind guide), the MS/Y Elegante kite-safari itinerary, Unplug and Let's Kite spot cards. Djibouti has no certified kite school on the sand — the resident guide offers only a land-based introduction and says he is not licensed to teach — so no spot carries a beginner label. Ghoubbet spots are reached by boat or 4x4; pins are approximate. Water temperature is a seasonal Gulf of Aden estimate.

Local hazards

  • Seaweed after cloudy, windy spells fouls foils
  • Light wind most days
