About this spot
Hua Hin, about three hours south of Bangkok, has a long east-facing sandy beach and the largest group of kite schools in Thailand. From about November to February the north-east monsoon blows side-onshore with some chop; from about February to May a south-easterly to southerly thermal wind follows.
Shallow water, a sandy bottom and schools on the beach make it a common learning spot. Westerly winds blow offshore and should not be ridden. Watch for swimmers, fishing boats and jellyfish at some times of year.

Needs local verification: Compiled in October 2026 from independent spot guides and the general descriptions of the Hua Hin and Phuket kite schools. Monsoon timing varies year to year, and beach rules (especially inside national-park beaches and near the airport) can change, so everything here needs confirming on site; coordinates are approximate, not verified launch points. No verified live webcam was found, so the camera links open Windy's webcam search instead of a local feed.
