About this spot
Nai Yang, on Phuket's north-west coast next to the airport, is the island's main kite spot during the south-west monsoon, roughly May to October. The wind blows onshore to side-onshore into the bay, which is partly sheltered by a reef, so conditions inside are choppy rather than big waves.
The beach is part of Sirinat National Park and sits below the airport approach — follow the school and park rules on where and how high you may fly. Schools work here in season; easterly winds are offshore and dangerous.

Needs local verification: Compiled in October 2026 from independent spot guides and the general descriptions of the Hua Hin and Phuket kite schools. Monsoon timing varies year to year, and beach rules (especially inside national-park beaches and near the airport) can change, so everything here needs confirming on site; coordinates are approximate, not verified launch points. No verified live webcam was found, so the camera links open Windy's webcam search instead of a local feed.
Local hazards

- National park beach — rules apply
