About this spot
In 2023 Abu Dhabi Maritime designated an area on the north side of Yas Island as the emirate's kitesurfing site, opened with the Sailing and Rowing Federation and the Emirates Kiteboarding Association. It is dedicated to kiting — no swimming, jet skis or motorboats — free, and open daily from sunrise to sunset.
Regular riders register for an annual membership card at the security gate (Emirates ID and a passport photo); visitors show ID and sign a disclaimer. EKA-approved instructors are on site to give safety lessons and help newcomers launch. Follow the posted safety instructions and the international IKO rules. A southerly land wind blows offshore and is a no-ride direction.

Needs local verification: Compiled in October 2026 from Abu Dhabi Maritime's local marine notice designating the North Yas kite site, Time Out Abu Dhabi, Kite Insider and a Dubai beach guide. Zone boundaries, registration rules, opening hours and lesson prices change, so everything here needs confirming on site and the coordinates are approximate, not verified launch points. No verified live webcam was found, so the camera links open Windy's webcam search instead of a local feed.
