About this spot
Maraa (PK 28) on Tahiti's south coast is one of a string of lagoon spots used by the boat-based school Pacific Kite; the best wind zones are often reached by boat.
Pacific Kite teaches complete beginners, but always from boats — this is not a walk-up beach for a first solo launch.
The lagoon here is shallow with sharp coral heads; booties are strongly recommended.
The south-easterly Mara'amu fills in May to October; the exact usable sector is best confirmed with the school.
