About this spot

Soldatskiy plyazh ('Soldier's beach') is inside Aktau city. Kiteforum lists it as a big sandy beach with school, rental, shop, showers and food, flat to choppy water with small waves, and rider levels from beginner to expert; best directions SSE through W.

The Riders of the Storm school runs camps here from May to September and names Soldatka first among its teaching places; it quotes water around 20–21 °C and air 25–27 °C in that season. Kite Jungle counts about 245 days a year with at least 12 knots.

Swimmers fill the beach in June–August — keep the launch clear.

Amenities

  • Seasonal kite camp with lessons and rental
  • Showers, toilets, food in town

Needs local verification: Compiled in October 2026 from the Riders of the Storm school's Aktau camp page, Kiteforum and Kite Jungle spot cards, Spotkitesurf, the Astana Times report on Kapchagay and Citypass Kazakhstan's kitesurfing overview. Kazakhstan has no resident kite school listed by the international guides — the Aktau lessons are seasonal camps (May–September). Pins are approximate and wind windows outside Soldatka are my reading of the shoreline; check on site. The many steppe spots around Astana are snow- and landkite fields and are not listed here.

Local hazards

  • Swimmers in June–August
  • School is a seasonal camp, not year-round
