About this spot
Alzour Beach, also listed as Zour Beach, is a long sandy strip on Kuwait's southern Gulf coast near Mina Said (Suud). The water runs flat to choppy with small waves when a stronger onshore wind builds, and there is enough room to lay out several kites well apart — the guide's own verdict on the sand is that it is long and roomy but dirty.
Getting in is the awkward part. There is no direct access by car: you park at the road, take the stairs down over the oil pipeline and walk about 50 m to the water, with cliffs on one side and the Texaco oil port on the other. Factor that into a session with a big kite and full gear.
The wind is the same north-north-westerly Shamal as the rest of this coast: modelled monthly averages of 12 to 15 knots, 194 days a year at force 4 or more, and episodes that can push past 30 knots. The Shamal here is a weather event rather than a daily sea breeze — it sets in and runs for a day or several, through the night as well as the afternoon, so the forecast picks your session rather than an hour of the day. One destination record works out the local coast orientation and concludes that the Shamal runs along this shore with an offshore lean rather than blowing in; nobody who has ridden it has confirmed that, so check which way the water is moving before you commit to a drift.

Needs local verification: Sources: the Kiteforum record for Zour Beach (long sandy beach but dirty, lots of space, cliffs on one side and the Texaco oil port on the other, no direct car access — park at the road and walk over the oil pipeline using the stairs, about 50 m, about 100 km south of Kuwait City, flat to choppy with small waves on a stronger onshore, generally lighter winds), the Kite Insider spot card (published level ratings contradict each other and are marked unconfirmed, eight hazards reported by riders, the Shamal described as a multi-day synoptic event rather than a daily sea breeze, the coast orientation derived as NNW–SSE with the beach facing about east-north-east — explicitly flagged as unconfirmed by anyone who has ridden it, about 70 min from Kuwait International Airport) and Kite Jungle's 194 days a year at force 4 or more. The Kiteforum ability line does list beginners, but with an oil port, cliffs, a pipeline crossing and dirty sand, and no school confirming lessons here, no beginner label is given. Needs local verification.
