About this spot
Brighton-Le-Sands is a long sandy beach on the west shore of Botany Bay, a short drive from central Sydney. The summer north-easterly sea breeze blows side-onshore, the water is shallow near the beach with small chop, and local kite schools teach here.
Sydney airport sits on the northern side of the bay, so kites must stay low and within the permitted area — learn the current rules from a school or the council. Expect swimmers on hot days, and a strong 'southerly buster' can arrive suddenly in summer. A westerly blows offshore and is a no-ride direction.

Needs local verification: Compiled in October 2026 from independent spot guides and the general descriptions of local kite schools and clubs. Kite zones, council and airport rules, seasonal swimmer areas and which school teaches where change over time, so everything here needs confirming on site and the coordinates are approximate, not verified launch points. School presence at Lancelin was not confirmed from a primary source, so it is marked intermediate and up. No verified live webcam was found, so the camera links open Windy's webcam search instead of a local feed.
