About this spot
Lancelin, about 1.5 hours north of Perth, is one of Australia's best-known wind towns, long home to the Lancelin Ocean Classic. In summer the south-westerly sea breeze blows strongly most afternoons, often 18-30 knots.
Offshore reefs create a mix of choppy-to-flat water in the lee and real waves on the reef breaks. Reef, strong wind and limited rescue make it better suited to independent riders; whether a school currently teaches here was not confirmed.
Respect the swimming beach and boat ramp area in town, and watch for reef close to the surface at low tide. An easterly is offshore and a no-ride direction.

Amenities
- Small town with shops, accommodation and a pub
Needs local verification: Compiled in October 2026 from independent spot guides and the general descriptions of local kite schools and clubs. Kite zones, council and airport rules, seasonal swimmer areas and which school teaches where change over time, so everything here needs confirming on site and the coordinates are approximate, not verified launch points. School presence at Lancelin was not confirmed from a primary source, so it is marked intermediate and up. No verified live webcam was found, so the camera links open Windy's webcam search instead of a local feed.
