About this spot
Safety Bay, about 45 minutes south of central Perth, is protected by sandbanks and Shoalwater Islands, which keep the water shallow and flat. From about October to April the afternoon south-westerly sea breeze — the 'Fremantle Doctor' — blows most days, typically 15-25 knots, and kite schools teach here in standing depth.
Mind the swimmers and boat traffic near the beach, seagrass and the occasional shallow reef patch, and stingrays in the shallows (shuffle your feet). A southerly or south-easterly can turn side-off here; an easterly morning land breeze is offshore and a no-ride direction.

Needs local verification: Compiled in October 2026 from independent spot guides and the general descriptions of local kite schools and clubs. Kite zones, council and airport rules, seasonal swimmer areas and which school teaches where change over time, so everything here needs confirming on site and the coordinates are approximate, not verified launch points. School presence at Lancelin was not confirmed from a primary source, so it is marked intermediate and up. No verified live webcam was found, so the camera links open Windy's webcam search instead of a local feed.
