About this spot

Łeba is a resort town on the open Baltic coast, next to the famous moving dunes of Słowiński National Park. The long, wide sandy beaches east and west of the harbour face the open sea, so northerly winds bring waves breaking over sandbars — one of the better wave and jumping spots on the Polish coast.

The beach faces north: north-west, north and north-east winds are onshore to side-onshore and the safe directions; west and east run cross-shore and get gusty. Anything with south in it is offshore and dangerous. Avoid the harbour moles and the Łeba river mouth, where currents and boat traffic concentrate. Rip currents run between sandbars and the shore break can be heavy.

In summer the beach is very busy with swimmers; ride away from guarded zones. Parking is paid in town; cafés and accommodation are plentiful. Parts of the coast belong to the national park, where kiting may be restricted — check locally.
