About this spot

Savannah Bay, known locally as Junk's Hole, is the antidote to Shoal Bay's beach-bar row: a wide, shallow lagoon tucked behind the reef on Anguilla's east coast, with a handful of visitors even in high season.

When the trades come from the east-southeast the lagoon is flat and waist deep across much of its width. The trade-off is scattered coral heads and no rescue cover — this is a spot for riders who can look after themselves.
