About this spot
The Kite House is a beach camp on the coast road between Anfeh and Tripoli, and it is the one place in Lebanon where everything a first rider needs sits on the sand: the spot guide lists a school, rental, rescue, showers, toilets, food, camping and rooms all in one place. Flying Frog Academy, the school that works from here, is rated on reviews for teaching beginners safely and getting them riding upwind.
Riders describe the beach as wide and pleasant for launching and landing, with a significant shallow zone to practise in — the combination that makes a first lesson possible without a boat. The spot guide's own wind window is SSW to SW, strongest and most reliable from June to September.
It is not an empty beach in season. The guide lists swimmers, jet skis and rocks as the hazards, and charges a day fee for using the beach, so check the price and the kite zone with the school before you rig up.
