About this spot
Windy.app's North Macedonia kite directory carries 'Gradishte (Camping Gradishte)' among the country's top kite spots, on the western shore of Ohrid between Peštani and the Galičica slopes.
The shore here faces the open lake to the east and north-east, so winds off the water are the rideable ones while a westerly arrives offshore down the mountain side. The lake's own overview gives the regional wind pattern — a prevailing north wind in autumn and winter, south and south-west in spring and summer — so a west-shore launch like this one is most workable on the spring–summer winds that carry across the basin.
Nothing is documented about instruction, rental or rescue on this beach, and the Macedonian club rates Ohrid as the least favourable of the lakes it has tried. Confirm the launch and any campsite access on site before driving down for it.

Needs local verification: Compiled in October 2026 from Kitesports Macedonia (kitesports.mk), Windy.app's North Macedonia kite directory, a Sakam Da Kažam report on the Prespa launches with the Vertigo club, a Slovenian trip report on Slivnica, Windfinder's Star Dojran page and Wikipedia's Dojran lake article. No kite school operates in the country, so no lessons or rental are documented; the water tables are seasonal estimates from the lakes' documented surface ranges. Exact launch points, entry conditions, parking and any protected-area rules need on-site confirmation.
