About this spot
Slivnica is the second of the two Prespa launches named by the Macedonian kiters: the same Sakam Da Kažam report has the group moving here when the wind turns south, and the club's own markers on Windy.app sit on this bay.
A Slovenian watersports trip report (August 2023) describes the entry as 'lots of sand, shallow water for the first 100 m, then deep' — a long, forgiving shallows backed by a drop-off, on a lake the report notes sits at about 850 m and runs some 20 km long. The club's lake-wide figures are 10–35 knots, 10–30 °C and a May–October season.
As on the rest of Prespa there is no school on the sand — lessons are not documented anywhere in the country — and the shallow-then-deep shelf means a rider who is not yet upwind-capable should stay inside the shallows rather than drift across the drop.

Access & parking
From Resen take the Prespa shore road south-east toward the Greek border to Slivnica; the bay beach is at the village.
Parking: Beach parking at the bay (no kite-specific lot documented).
Amenities
- Beach bars, cafés and holiday accommodation at the bay
- Kitesports Macedonia community sessions (no paid school documented)
Needs local verification: Compiled in October 2026 from Kitesports Macedonia (kitesports.mk), Windy.app's North Macedonia kite directory, a Sakam Da Kažam report on the Prespa launches with the Vertigo club, a Slovenian trip report on Slivnica, Windfinder's Star Dojran page and Wikipedia's Dojran lake article. No kite school operates in the country, so no lessons or rental are documented; the water tables are seasonal estimates from the lakes' documented surface ranges. Exact launch points, entry conditions, parking and any protected-area rules need on-site confirmation.
Local hazards
- A northerly blows offshore down the bay — the club launches here on a southerly
- The sandy shelf drops to deep water about 100 m out
- No kite school, patrol or rescue on the lake
- High-summer swimmer traffic on the bay beach
