About this spot
Paramali sits in a wild, undeveloped stretch of coast between Limassol and Episkopi: no umbrellas, no promenade, just a bay framed by headlands. The thermal wind here is strong and remarkably steady — often a couple of beats stronger than at Mazotos — which is why experienced riders and wing foilers head here when the south coast is blowing.
SW and WSW are the working directions, with S also sailable. Northerly winds come off the hills and are dangerous. Entry is over pebbles — neoprene boots help — and the water deepens quickly: there is no shallow standing area, so solid self-rescue skills are essential. The area borders protected turtle nesting beaches: respect marked zones in summer, keep off the dunes and do not kite above flagged nesting sections. The water is warm (roughly 17–28 °C).
Access is via a rough dirt track from the Paramali village road; park at the track end near the beach. There are no facilities — bring water and everything you need, and ride with a buddy. Experts and confident intermediates only.
