About this spot
Dreverna sits just north of Svencelė on the same stretch of the Curonian Lagoon, but with a fraction of the crowds. The launch is a grassy beach south of the small marina, opening onto shallow, mostly flat water. On light to moderate days it is a relaxed alternative when Svencelė is packed, and beginners who already have basic control will appreciate the extra space.
The wind window is similar to Svencelė — south-west to west-north-west is ideal and side-onshore. Easterlies are offshore and must be avoided. The main thing to watch is boat traffic: the harbour entrance and the marked channel run close to the riding area, so stay clear of the fairway and give yachts and fishing boats a wide berth.
A kite school runs sessions here (2kite / GO2KITE, listed by the Klaipėda district municipality among the lagoon schools), and that is the right way to ride Dreverna: the entry is fussier than at Svencelė — reeds and seaweed along the shore, a hard bottom with sharp shells, and the shelf drops away faster than it looks. Facilities are otherwise basic but sufficient: free parking by the marina, a café, toilets and a campsite within walking distance.
